Termination

I joined to a co. last week.

I am facing one difficulty now.

The whole dept. only includes of two staffs: My Asst. & I.

I have to decide whether I have to terminate my assistant.

The assistant joined to the co. four months ago.

According to my observation, she easily forgets some procedures of her tasks.

If I terminate her, I have to hire a new assistant.

Then the whole dept is full of new staffs.

This is dangerous.

The whole dept. may be fxxxxx up.

If I retain her, her performance may still affect me.

When God is Love...When forgiveness is valuable...

I would like to give her one more chance....

I do not know whether this decision is correct....

However, everyone should have one more chance, right?

No plan is good......good

Honestly speaking, I do not have any plan.

For me....I do not really have a plan in my life.

Please do not ask me about 5-yr-plan again......

I am not an optimist. However, you and I are facing a changing world. This happens in everywhere.

This also applies for companies.
I think that a goal is needed.
However, all plans would be adjusted frequently and shortly.
I also need to help my company to draft the HR planning every year.
However, many variables affect the situation. e.g. Govt's policies

I am a christian.
I believe that my career path, my marriage will be arranged by my Lord.

And I believe that I focus on "Today". That's enough.

When you studied marketing subject, you knew that price was a huge topic.

Someone will tell you:

Price is total value.
Price is based on your target customers.
Price links positioning together.
Price is only an illusion.
Price is affected by economy.
.................
.................

I like my digital camera LX3.

There is another new model: LX5
And Canon has the similar function model: S95

However, the price of LX3 is still expensive.

I do not care about the no. of stock.
I do not care about the net profit of LX3

I do mind is how the customer thinks.
If you and I still think that it's price is still reasonable.
We have to ask "Why"

Each person may have different reason.
And there is no right or wrong.

Someone thinks that LX3's price is unacceptable...
This is because she loves another brand: Canon or Samsung....that's all.
This is because LX3 does not have > 3X optical zoom.....

I love LX3 because:
It is really made of Japan not China
I go hiking and bring it to take photos. My friends & I also think that the photos are great.
It has F2.0

Humble heart

You may admire for someone who may be very successful or may be a talent.....

They sometimes reject the title "Success" on them.


"Doing nothing through envy or through pride, but with low thoughts of self let everyone take others to be better than himself." Philippians2:3

If I want to be successful, I believe that I should have a humble heart.

The heart can accept for other's praise & judgement.

I hope that I will learn from my friends, books & bible.

If you have a friend who always turn down your idea.

Do not be angry......

You can say that you are lucky.....because someone is willing to be your mirror.

Of course we do not like to listen some negative suggestion or parent opinion.

However, their opinion or suggestion may save your life in some day......

Because my site (domain) will be published in February, I spend a lot of time on discussion & preparation.

I am now so so so tired. However, I am still so excited.

Adam is chosen because of Bible. That's all....
Check is really for checking sth.

However, C has another meaning is: Christ....the black item is Devil (Snake).....

The third wish ........ I stopped suddenly because I felt that I was lucky and was very happy at the moment...

Protectionism

According to Cambridge dictionary, protectionism means that the actions of a government to help its country's trade or industry by taxing goods bought from other countries.

The symbolism can also apply for a company or a person.

I did not write a blog yesterday because I was quite angry.

One of the site's designer talked to me yesterday evening, he talked to me a lot a lot a lot........



I feel that his priority of the cooperation:
1st He wins
2nd He wins
3rd He wins


In my opinion, he wants to protect his company a lot, ignores the real feeling of his customers and did not put his fxxxing foot into my shoe.


Whoever your role is department head, saleslady or salesman, customer service officer or others, you have to understand the source of money.


I use the word understand, because "understand" is different from the word of "know". If you understand the concept, that means that you listen to the concept, analyze the concept, accept the concept and prepare for implementation.


Although you are not the boss of the company, you have to do the best to serve the customers.


There are too many noises from the advertisement. People become more clever. To some extent, some of them do not only rely on the message of the advertisement but also "words of mouth".


Please treat your customer well.


Please do not forget, all staffs are also the internal customers of the director. Subordinates are the internal customers of their supervisors.

Don't trust your memory (Part I)

I do not mind whether you watched "Inception" before.

However, we still have similar experience. Part of our memory is misled or stolen by ourself.

Do you have the following experience?

A) You do not remember where the product A is. The product A may be digital camera, last year Xmas gift, a pen or ...........

B) You believe that the product A is stored in location A. However, you cannot find it in Location A. Generally speaking, Location A may be the specific shelf, the specific cabinet, the specific folder on computer or ...........

Finally, you find our remember that it is stored in Location B.

Do not trust your memory 100%!!


If you make a decision which is only based on your memory, I will only say "Good luck!!" to you.

Fly is good

I always have afternoon tea in the Restaurant A.

It's close competitor's "Restaurant B" location is near it. The price, products, services and others are similar to each other.

I always find flies in the Restaurant A, They also want to taste my food & my drink.

Nevertheless, I still enjoy my food in the Restaurant A.

Why?

I am an abnormal person, may be....
I love flies, nooooooo...

If you are the director, you have the responsibility to find out the value of your company.

The value is something that the customers calculate the total mark of the company's service + product + others in their heart.

You cannot only observe the customers' behavior, do the questionnaires or do some statistics to find out the customers' value.

Textbook cannot teach you, your experience may not help you or only mislead you.

Presentation

Facing your client......
You are going to have a presentation.
Question:
How many plan(s) do you prepare for? 1, 2 or 3
I often prepare for 3 plans: A, B & C

Plan A: This is my top priority. I definitely believe that this can work & can satisfy my clients. May be the clients give me 30mins, 45mins or more to present my services & products. What I only need to concentrate on 0-5mins. Why?! May be I tell you afterwards.

Plan B: This will be an alternative planning. Generally speaking, I prepare for i) some extra information which will not show to my ordinary clients, ii) different materials for the presentation & iii) others

Plan C: This is "experience". The experience helps you to read the clients' mind & notice their body languages.

I sometimes only use Plan A, sometimes use Plan A + Plan B......
Nevertheless, I like Plan C....This is challenge.....but I get highly satisfaction.

At the end of this essay.......I would like to say: it is OK if you only have Plan A. However, you should have well preparation.

You have to recognize that different client has different personalty. Some clients emphasize on statistics, emphasize on graphic, emphasize on feeling only or others.....

I just want to mention:

Each page of my leaflet or booklet or advertisement:

1. Only one - three message(s) to the public. If you want to do branding of your company, then you focus on the branding only. If you want to do some promotion of your products, then you focus on your products / sales only.
2. I understand that different person has difference preference. Someone would like to read the text, would like to focus on the pictures or would like to see some attractive colors of the leaflet.
3. I do not rely on popular star to promote my service or product. That does not mean that the decision making is wrong when you choose those stars for some specific purposes of your marking or branding.
